Akin Akbiyik
Akin is one of our Vice-Presidents of Client Partnerships, focusing on strategic business development. He builds strong, long-term partnerships with clients and business leaders around the world and manages relationships while overseeing service delivery operations.
Over the course of his illustrious career to date, he has established himself as a business leader with experience in high-level strategy consulting, strategic roadmap planning, business transformation and strengthening value propositions.
Akin joined us in March 2023 after spending four years in the role of Vice-President – High Growth European Market Regional Advisors Lead with Mastercard. He oversaw Mastercard Advisors across 12 countries; managed 120 people, worked with key players in the finance, FinTech and digital marketplaces; devised long-term strategies and led critical projects.
Prior to that, he worked for nine years with Boston Consulting Group in Istanbul, Turkey and New York, USA. As a Project Leader, he worked extensively in the banking and insurance sectors, developing strategies, leading transformation programmes, installing industry best practices, and overseeing project teams.
Akin, who is based in Istanbul, Turkey, also holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, USA, and a BSc in Mechatronics Engineering from Sabanci University, Turkey. He also worked as a Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon at the start of his career before joining BCG.
