Creative offering grows as Hyphen takes on more editorial projects

Hyphen’s Design team is now leading the development of substantial editorial and print projects that form a growing part of our offering to clients.

The group has recently been involved in preparing extensive annual and positioning reports, white papers, event publications, humanitarian funding documents and more. These intensive projects often require close collaboration between our designers, clients, copywriters and commercial printers.

This expanded remit puts creative design at the heart of our consulting and engagement work. The team supports everything from structuring complex editorial layouts to ensuring clarity in visual storytelling across substantial, multi-stakeholder publications.

Recent client-focused projects include:

  • Editorial design and copy support services for a defence-focused white paper for a public-sector organisation in the GCC region.
  • Ongoing print and digital support for cross-functional team marketing collateral.

They also played a key role in developing Chronos, our purpose-built timekeeping, invoicing and expenses solution for independent contractors, as well as building our website and creating branding.

This shift marks a significant evolution in our creative offering, with editorial and print expertise now central to how we help clients communicate.

“Hyphen believes in cross-functional working – and that includes drawing fully on our in-house creative talent,” said Co-Founder Michael Savolainen. “Our team of Patrick, Anahat and Marta bring substance and style – and they’re now shaping polished, high-quality outputs our clients can take straight to publication.”

With designers working more directly on client-facing outputs, they are now partnering closely with consultants, writers and printers to ensure every final product meets the highest standards – both in content and delivery.

Patrick Savolainen, Head of Design, added: “Each engagement gives us the chance to develop something tailored and fresh, which adds an extra dimension to our work. This shift has already given us even more opportunity to co-create with clients and partners, which has been very interesting.

“Ultimately, we’re delivering editorial depth and creative excellence – and that’s something we’re proud to build further.”
