Jörg Michael Funk
Jörg is a Senior Executive Partner at Hyphen, bringing more than 25 years of leadership experience across consulting, industry and government. He supports clients on complex, high-impact initiatives, with a particular focus on leadership, governance, and delivery at scale. Jörg is also the General Manager of our office in Saudi Arabia.
Over the course of his career, Jörg has built and led organisations, managed large cross-functional teams, and worked closely with boards, ministers and senior executives. His experience spans national transformation programmes, multi-billion-dollar M&A, industrial strategy, and public-private execution, with a strong emphasis on turning ambition into outcomes.
Jörg initially partnered with us in November 2024 before formally taking up the role of Senior Executive Partner in January 2026. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles within one of Saudi Arabia’s Vision Realization Program, aiming at the economic development of the Kingdom, where he served as CEO and later as Senior Advisor and Head of Corporate Relationship Management. In these roles, he developed strategy, governance and operating models, led large teams, and worked directly with senior government stakeholders on complex, system-wide initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Jörg spent 15 years with Boston Consulting Group, where he was a Partner and Managing Director in Europe and Latin America. He led industrial goods and telecoms work, drove major transformation and turnaround programmes, and built high-performing teams across multiple markets. He has also held senior executive roles in industry, founded advisory and technology ventures, and served on boards in both commercial and non-profit settings.
Jörg is a co-founder and CFO of a high-tech company focused on advanced nuclear magnetic resonance applications and has extensive experience in governance, risk management and board leadership. He holds a PhD in engineering from ETH Zurich, has completed further studies in computer science, and is fluent in six languages. He is based in Riyadh.
