Banking giant HSBC showcases Hyphen financial transformation project in new case study

Hyphen’s recent financial transformation collaboration with HSBC has been documented in the global banking giant’s latest case study.
The project saw our team partner with members of the HSBC Corporate and Institutional Banking team to conduct a strategic overhaul that has positioned us for continued regional growth.
The case study, published on HSBC’s business insights platform, details how our organisation successfully modernised treasury operations to support our expansion in the GCC region.
Streamlining processes, improving cash flow visibility and enhancing operational efficiency were among the key objectives of the transformation project, which took place in Q4 2024.
“This recognition from HSBC validates our strategic approach to financial transformation,” said Michael Savolainen, Hyphen Co-Founder. “By centralising our treasury operations and implementing more sophisticated cash management solutions, we have created a robust financial foundation that supports our ambitious growth plans. The steps we have taken here will serve us well as we continue to scale up and they will give us a platform for moving into new markets.”
Key outcomes of our transformation highlighted in the case study include:
- Enhanced operational efficiency through streamlined processes
- Improved cash flow visibility and forecasting capabilities
- Reduced transaction costs and banking fees
- Better management of FX exposures across multiple markets
- Stronger controls and governance framework
Representatives from HSBC worked alongside our Finance team of Magdalena Dziurzyńska and Faith Oludowole, plus Adam Kovacs from our Tech team, to develop a bespoke solution that suited our needs with an eye on both the present and the future.
The financial transformation project will enable us to better accommodate internal needs and help stakeholders get maximum value for working with us. As well as the immediate benefits, which include easier management of banking relationships across different jurisdictions and currencies, the collaboration will also help to position us for scaling up when required.
Through our partnership with HSBC, our team implemented an integrated solution that provides real-time visibility into cash positions and automates more of our processes to optimise efficiency and free our Finance team to work on more value-adding tasks.
HSBC’s case study serves as an industry benchmark for successful financial transformation in high-growth companies operating across multiple jurisdictions in the Middle East. The bank cited our strategic approach and execution as exemplary for other organisations facing similar challenges.
